Sneak peek: Katya Leonovich Spring 2013
In her first and second seasons at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, designer Katya Leonovich drew from a wild array of inspirations for her work, which was widely praised for its bold, colorful view point that exploded with passion. The inspirations themselves "American Football" for Spring 2012 and "New York's Flatiron District" for Fall 2012 felt like fresh starting points with equal amounts of whit and whimsy for a designer on her way to become a major force in the industry.
For Spring 2013, the designer is back and bigger than ever, this time with a full runway show (as opposed to the smaller presentations of the past) and a totally new design direction.
Leonovich described the inspiration for her coming collection to Style Wylde as:
"Playing around the beautiful human body and trying to make it look different.....the metamorphoses of the body becoming the flower or animal or a piece of art itself."--Katya Leonovich
