Rumor confirmed: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M

image: H&M USAThe proliferation of  designer collaborations via mass market shops be it Macy's, J Crew, or Target may have you yawning and saying 'so what' when another is announced. (we are guilty of that too!)  But there are some collaborations that are so stunning in their potential to bring really amazing design to an affordable price-point that you absolutely have to take notice.  Such is the case with the now 100% confirmed collaboration coming this November, Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.

A French luxury label known for its unconventional, deconstructionist design aesthetic and its transformative creation process, Maison Martin Margiela has garnered a cult-like following in both fashion and high art circles. Often considered to be one of the most influential fashion houses of the last 30 years, the label is in the uppermost echelon of design with names such as Comme des Garçons and Lanvin.

A spokesman for the label had this to say about the collaboration:

“We are very happy to present MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.”
