While relaxed silhouettes and 90's era grunge influences populated many of the men's wear runways during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Fall 2012, designer Joseph Abboud took another route. Form and structure was the name of the day trim tweeds and well cut coats brought a much needed shot of gentlemanly charisma to the collections.

Not overly retro, and devoid of trendy gimmicks there was something very Cary Grant (and more than a little Chuck Bass too!) about the Joseph Abboud Fall 2012 pieces which seemed to celebrate masculinity in a more traditional manner than we are used to seeing on the catwalk. Three piece suits, slim legged trousers, and tweedy overcoats all had a vibe of classic wearbility and wardrobe longevity.
