Inspired by the union of fashion and film, designers Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper, the team behind New York based menswear label Rochambeau, put together a dark, brooding and intrinsically cinematic collection for Spring 2012. The film references were everywhere, woven through the collection in a series of monochromatic pieces that hinted at stylistically iconic films both futuristic such as Blade and historical such as There Will Be Blood.

Wide brimmed hats, and dark sunglasses definitely added a sense of machismo to the collection but, the unstructured vests, jackets and midi-length pants pushed the boundaries of masculinity and helped keep the collection from looking too 'Hollywood Hero' or from stumbling into the overtly costumey category.
