Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011:Portrait of a Woman

Collette Dinnigan's Fall 2011 collection, titled Portrait of a Woman, incorporated all the hallmarks of the young designer's work including delicate French lace, feminine silhouettes, and  an overall ladylike vibe created from her retro infused point of view. This time, however, a new element appeared in look after look throughout the collection: love.

Whether it was the obvious adoration of literary and historical heroines as muse, to the painstaking detail applied to party dresses, Fall 2011 was all about Dinnigan's love of her work, and of her clients.

Getty ImagesFurther emphasizing the emotional context of the collection was the sepia-toned palette in the pieces that added an air of nostalgia and romanticism to the looks. Taking it all in (online thanks to the powers of the internet and the venerable Getty Images) it is impossible to imagine the crowd in attendance not jumping to their feet to applaud this joyfully passionate presentation.
