Trend report: The new bridal

Ten days after THE WEDDING, the world is starting to settle down, and the hype is starting to pass. But in this post-Wills and Kate world one thing is for certain thedeath grip strappless princess gowns have had on bridal fashion is over, and creativity is finally returning to the world of weddings.  No where is the more apparent than in the Spring 2011 Bridal collections where innovation was as frequent as lace trims and trains.  Some of our favorite Spring 2011 bridal gowns include:

Flapper inspired gown from BHLDN.

The design team behind the Urban Outfitter's bridal offshoot has outdone themselves with creative, original dresses for the modern bride.  Our favorite from the collection is this ultra-retro flapper inspired tea length dress. With its rebel meets boardwalk empire vibe it's perfect for the girl that wants to be a little different on her big day. $2,600. For more info, or to review the entire BHLDN collection, visit the official website listed above.

British designer Jenny Packham has been making serious waves at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week over the last few seasons with glittering dresses that nearly blind with bling. But it is the super-sleek and modern Yevonde gown from the Spring/Summer 2011 Bridal collection that makes our hearts flutter.  In the San Francisco Bay Area the  Jenny Packham bridal collection is avaialble at Jin Wang Bridal in Union Square.
