

Chronicle Books to release Sui retrospective in the Fall
Designer Anna Sui/Image: Image.netSan Francisco based Chronicle books has announced that come Fall 2011 fashion fans will have another reason to visit their local independent book store as the publisher will release an Anna Sui biography/retrospective. The book is described by Chronicle's team as "a richly visiual retrospective that celebrates her influence from her first show that snared the support of supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Kate Moss to the role she's played in making the babydoll dress on of fashion's most iconic silhouettes. th more than 400 photographs from legendary photographers, this exquisite tome—with a shimmering foil-stamped cover—is essential for all fashionistas."
One of the few career retrospective works focused on a female designer, the Sui book is written by Andrew Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum on Art in New York city, with a preface written by Jack White, and introduction written by Steven Meisel, and a brief forward written by Sui herself.
