This Just in....Amazon buys Zappos

Jimmy Choo Shoes, coming soon to Amazon?Tech Crunch,  broke the news moments ago that internet book (and housewares, appliances, electronics, etc) depot Amazon.com has bought shoe-etailing innovator Zappos for a whopping $807 million ( or 10 Million Amazon shares.) 

Apparently Zappos management will stay in place ( no big layoffs) after the merge. 

This will not be the first foray into fashion for Amazon.  The company acquired the Wisconsin based  couture outpost Shop Bop in 2006.
