SF: If you're a fan of Florence + the Machine and you failed get tickets to their sell-out show at the Fox then get yourself down to 330 Ritch for Popscene where Florence Welch will be guest DJ along with performances by Glasser and PVT. For something more alternative and eclectic Bottom of the Hill has Avi Buffalo, A B & The Sea, and Colleen Green. At Vessel, Om Records and BASE have the awesomely talented Radio Slave - rsvp here for free admission before 11pm.
Friday
SF: At Rickshaw Stop Popscene and Loaded join forces to present Young The Giant and Geographer. At Thee Parkside it's all about country, blues, and rockabilly with Hillstomp, McDougall, and Man and the Bearded Ladies. At The Independent are Bear In Heaven with Lower Dens and Sun Airway.
East Bay: In Berkeley you can rock hard at either 924 Gilman with Monarch, Trees, Laudanum, Alaric, and Badr Vogu or Shattuck Down Low as Skulls & Roses presents Civil War Rust, Tater Famine, Pocket Full of Rye, and Bryan McPherson. You can also catch the more mellow sounds at Starry Plough Pub with The Beautiful Losers, Roy G Biv & The Mnemonic Devices, Matt Adams (of The Blank Tapes), and Katie Garibaldi. In Oakland every first Friday of the month is free is at The Uptown so you get to see Birds & Batteries, Maus Haus, James & Evander, and Sleeptalks for no cover.
Saturday
SF: We start at Cafe Du Nord with Bauhaus and Love & Rockets founding member David J with special guest Jill Tracy plus Oddbird and Five Beats One. At DNA Lounge the 80's come around again with New Wave City and their Duran Duran Tribute night. At Mighty Blasthaus have lured the talented Matthew Dear to play a live set in support of his Black City album.
East Bay: For anyone that's a fan of Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation tickets are still available for their show at The Greek Theatre which starts at 7pm. If you miss the show you can still catch some of the sounds at Blakes on Telegraph with KGE as they throw attack of the masses with DY's Sayain, NRPeace, and Dr. Frankenstein. If you're less Daddy G and more MGMT then get over to Oakland to The Uptown, celebrate their 3rd birthday, and catch Thee Oh Sees, Bare Wires, and Mister Loveless for a little electronic psychedelia. Also in Oakland, at The New Parish, is Ruben Albarran, one quarter of the Grammy Award winning Cafe Tacuba.
