The official start of summer is upon us and with it comes SF Pride weekend 2011. As always there are plenty of music and club events surrounding the weekends festivities and a full list of official Pride related events is available

Plenty of venues get into the Pride spirit so here are our recommendations for all things musical this Pride weekend.

If you're in, near, or just passing through Bernal Heights early on Friday evening then pop into
Wild West Side and check out
The Heated along with The P's & Q's and Audrey Howard. The show gets going at 8pm and it's free. If the 1980's is more your thing then you can get your groove on at
Kimo's with
Era Escape along with
Goodbye Gadget,
Neon Anyway, and
Fever Scene. The whole party kicks off at 9pm. Continuing the 80's theme and encompassing everything Jackson (The 5, Michael, and Janet),
Mezzanine presents the 2nd Annual Moonwalker Event featuring 14 piece Jackson tribute band
Foreverland. With last year's event selling out, get your tickets in advance
here for $25.
If you like your trance then you'll probably be living at Ruby Skye this weekend as Friday sees the first of two nights featuring two of the biggest names in trance as
Spundae have lured
Paul Oakenfold out of his studio. This event is sure to be a sell-out so get your advance tickets
here.
In the East Bay:
In an all East Bay take over The Shattuck Down Low is invaded by Oakland's HOTTUB along with Krishna, Religious Girls, plus DJ Miggy Stardust. The show starts at 9 and tickets are $7 in advance.
Staying in Berkeley 924 Gilman has a party for a split 7" release by Angries and Hooray for Everything with support by Neon Piss, Sweet Nothing, and DetachDolls. Doors are at 7.30 with the show starting at 8.
Saturday:
In San Francisco:
We start back at Ruby Skye for what is sure to be another packed house as Mixed Elements presents Dutch maestro Ferry Corsten who'll be supported by Tall Sasha. Advance tickets are available here.
At DNA Lounge Bootie SF celebrate Pink Saturday with the ultimate Queen of Pop mashup, Lady Gaga vs. Madonna night.
In the East Bay:
Tickets are still available for critically acclaimed singer/songwriter
Brett Denen at the
Fox Theater. The show starts at 8 with Dawes providing support.
