Weekend round-up: The Angelinos are coming!

While a large portion of the local population heads out to the playa this weekend, the 7x7 music scene sees a virtual invasion by some of Southern California's  most note worthy bands including:

Tonight in SF: The party at Popscene gets going with LA based Fitz and the Tantrums. Part hipster, part Motown, and alll good this is  definitely one Southern California outfit worth checking out.  There is no pre-sale for this show. $10 for those 21+ $12 for those 18+. Doors at 10. Friday In SF: It's a Hollywood rocker-revue at Slims  with Lights over Paris,  Some Hear Explosions, and Hollywood Hearthrob. $14 Doors at 8pm.  Go here for tickets online.

 

Friday in the East Bay: The Uptown in Oakland is joining forces with Amoeba Music to bring you a listening party for the greatest-still together band currently recording on the face of the earth* Interpol, and Ginderman at 6pm ( NO COVER!)  followed by  locals Definite Articles,  Poor Bailey, Graham Patzner, and The Myonics.   Doors at 6pm, live show at 9pm

 

Saturday in SF: Synth-POp and Indie Rock takes over the Rickshaw Stop , with My First Earthquake,  The Don'ts , Spiro Agnew(CD release party), Phantom Kicks followed by a DJ sent by Business 80. Tickets: $10 in advance here, or $12 at the door. All ages, door at 8PM.


Saturday in the East Bay:  Mardi Gras comes early to Cafe Van Cleef in Oakland as Blue Bone Express and Hot Pink feathers take the stage with a Samba/Burlesque super party. 9:30 pm.  Get a feel for the fiesta ahead of time and check out the previous party pics are here.
