School of Rock

Young punks and posers get ready to get schooled, its gonna be loud, fast and crazy all over the bay area this weekend with several iconic punk/thrash rock acts taking the stage including:

Tonight:

Old school punk+Charity event,  throw your elbows for a good cause at Slims  tonight for the Rock to Roll Charity concert featuring thrash-rockers NOFX, WAX, Dead to Me, and Nathan Maxwell and the Original Bunny Gang (Flogging Molly Bassist Nathan Maxwell's side project) Doors @ 7pm/$40 click here for more details. Meanwhile, over in "The Town", Hell-Ay hardcore comes to the Stork Club in the form of Anti-Social.

Not in the mood to stage dive? Then check out  synth-pop sweeties Cold Cave, Former Ghosts and Veil Veil Vanish at Bottom of the Hill (Doors@ 8:30/$10) , or Stellastar  at Popscene(doors@9)

 Friday:

Annie's Social club is the scene for rocking with La PlebeFrankenstein L.I.V.SThe Hooks, and  Nothington taking the stage doors @8:30/$8, while softies can get their beardy-hipster-folk-thing on at The Great American Music hall with J.Tillman ( Of Fleet Foxes). Doors @8/$14.

Saturday: Starting in Berkley, hardcore is NOT dead at 924 Gilman with Pathology, Destroyed in Seconds,  Agenda of Swine,Thousandswillide, Flesh Consumed and Deadly Remains taking the stage. Door @7pm / $8 while  back in SF indie shakers  Midnight Strangers, The Spyrals and Tasso get their licks in at the Hemlock Tavern. (Doors @9:30/$6)
