Live music round-up
From chillwave to post punk there are plenty of live music events going off this weekend including:
FRIDAY:
Starting in SF, Dolorata, Audrey Howard and the Misters + View From Space join forces at The Bottom of the Hill for a post-punk/psychobilly show not to be missed,( 10PM/ $10). While The Fiery Furnaces, Cryptacize and Dent May get their hipster groove on at Slims. (9pm/$16) Over on the north side, Barn Owl, Eternal Tapestry, Real Estate, and Moon Duo create an elctro-psychotropic scene at Hemlock Tavern(9:30PM/$8).
In the East Bay, Maldroid, Sentinel, Tornado Rider and Goodbye Gadget are riding the post wave sound to Oakland's Uptown(9PM /$10) while Boats, The Atom Age, The Sweet revenge, Sharp Objects, 9 O'clock News, and Not Yet prove punk is not dead at 924 Gilman(7PM/$8).
Saturday:
Starting in SF, Pie Rats, The Yes Gos and Light Machine make it easy on your wallet with a FREE show at Thee Parkside,(5PM) while folkpop rockers Billy and Dolly celebrate the release of their new album In The Beginning at Hotel Utah with special guests Michael Zapruder and Paul Bertolino,(9pm/$10)
In the East Bay Life in 24 Frames, Fight from Above , Fleeting Trance and Cola Wars create an eclectic indie rock mix at Oakland's Stork Club.
