Viz Cinema to hold third fundraiser for Japan relief
Kamikaze Girls poster will be given to all attendees/Image courtesy of Viz Cinema
A leader in the local effort to raise funds for Japan's earthquake and tsunami relief, Viz Cinema will hold its third film fundraising event on Sunday May 29th at 6pm with a screening of the wildly popular Kamikaze Girls.
Based on the novel by Novala Takemoto, Kamikaze Girls follows the friendship between two students from different backgrounds. Without giving too much of the plot away, the film can be described as visual feast of Japanese fashion and lifestyle which everyone from the Lolita aficionado to the J pop cultural neophyte can enjoy.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or for a suggested donation of $10 at the door. 100% of the proceeds from the screening will go to the Northern California Japanese Relief Fund and all attendees will receive a copy of the film poster.
