Halloween haiku

istock photo

Dear Haikusue:

When I was in my early 20's Halloween was a really big deal. Every year I had some fantastic well-thought out costume and somewhere exciting to go. But now that I am older (career, married, etc.) it just feels like the big night is boring. All my friends have kids and will spending the night trick or treating, and both the husband and I have to get up early for work the next day, so any parties or get-togethers are pretty much out. Help, I don't want to  accept that Halloween is for the 20 somethings and I should just  to bed early! Please give  me suggestions for things actual adults can do (that don't involve the words "exotic-erotic" that is.) on Halloween?

Signed,

Old fogey in San Francisco
