Dream catching haiku
istock photoDear Haikusue:
I've spent the last five years working in the legal arena, both as a lawyer and as a outside consultant for companies. I got into the field because I am a strong writer, and was encouraged to "do something that will earn a living" instead of going after my dreams of being a novelist by my friends and family. Five years after passing the bar I have 60k in savings, a nice condo but almost no social life, and am totally miserable at my job. Every day I regret not pushing myself to go after my dreams, and instead opting for the big paycheck. Is it too late for me? Should I just quit and go for it?
Signed,
Money didn't buy me happiness in the Marina
