Being there haiku

istock photoDear Haikusue:

My friend "Jane" and I have known each other for about five years. We met at work and became fast friends. For the first few years we were insperable, we told each other everything and were always supportive of each other's career and personal goals.  Lately, my career has really taken off, and so has Jane.  She never returns calls or texts, and I have heard from other friends that she has been grumbling bout my success, saying it is due to my "dumb luck" and not my hard work or talent.  I am really hurt, and want to confront her, but others are telling me it's a waste of time, and if she wanted to be friends she would be there for me now, instead of gossiping behind my back. What do you think, will confronting her get our friendship back on track or should I just drop our friendship and move on without her?

Signed,

Stinging in the Sunset

Dear Stinging:

In this so short life

why cling to toxic friendship

let go and move on
