Lowdown on THE DRESS: Mathieu Mirano x LadyGaga

Lady Gaga greets fans in an one-of a kind look designed in collaboration with Mathieu MiranoEarlier today, Lady Gaga's appearance on Good Morning America had her fans, the paps, and even her sworn-enemy Perez Hilton going, well gaga-spastic And while we here at SW like the singer just as much as the next non-insane fan, what really caught our eye was that GORGEOUS dress the pop supernova was wearing.

Designed in collaboration with  Mathieu Mirano who made his debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York during the Fall 2012 season, and whom Style Wylde interviewed in May of that same year, the dress was equal parts edgy, and sophisticated. Created from "warped white paper" and comprised of a jacket, bra, panty and gloves, there was just enough 'wearable art' aspects to the ensemble, with out getting into crazy "I'm wearing a skirt made of sirloin" territory. In other words, it was simply perfect for the sometimes shocking star.

“I was approached by Lady Gaga’s team to create custom pieces for her. Lady Gaga has given me the chance to take my creativity to the next level- in a way that is different from what I create for my seasonal collections.” -- designer Mathieu Mirano on how the collaboration came about.

Are there more Mathieu Mirano x Lady Gaga collaborations in the future? Only time will tell, but we're hoping this look is a pre-cursor of what's to come at the designers Spring Summer 2014 runway show next month.
