Fashion feature: Motonari Ono Fall 2013
image:C.Hope for Style WyldeBeloved in Japan for his hyper-feminine dresses and separates that appeal to women of all age groups, Motonari Ono has become an institution at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, constantly showing big, theatrical shows that draw in a huge crowd.

But for Fall 2013 the designer went in a more intimate direction. Opting this time to show in a smaller space, Ono unveiled a quieter, less flashy collection, that felt more personal than ever before.
The pieces, which were presented on a "theater in the round" style stage with the audience seated at 360 degrees around it, incorporated a ton of trademark Ono femininity via floral prints, and sheer panels with lace overlays.

At the same time, there were several new ideas in this collection, such as sportier outdoorsy anoraks and lean denim leggings.

These new additions were pulled off gorgeously, and really spoke of a designer who is not satisfied by resting on his proven work, but is instead constantly growing and stretching his point of view to new heights.
