Fashion feature: Somarta Fall 2012
A primarily pastel color palette, with just a few pops of crimson and black, gave the heavily textured looks in the Somarta Fall 2012 pieces a surprisingly light feel.
The silhouettes were elaborately layered, with intricate laser cut work that formed an almost skeletal structure over otherwise hyper feminine dresses and skirts. This detail, was intriguing and clearly illustrated Somarta designer Tamae Hirokawa's talent for walking the fine line between art and fashion.
Finishing off the looks, and keeping them from tipping into the "too sweet" and "too girly" realm were ornate legwear and illusion heels that felt right at home with the edgy collection.
