For decades Japanese designers, and Japanese pop culture have been a huge influence on western fashion, with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Gwen Stefani looking east for inspiration. This season, instead of simply reporting on all the New York designers whom are drawing on Japan for inspiration, we decided to go straight to the source, and accept an invitation to attend Mercedes Benz Tokyo Fashion Week.
The official events surrounding Mercedes Benz Tokyo Fashion Week Fall 2012, which include installations, parties, and special exhibitions, kick off on Friday evening, but our coverage will start (assuming we can get internet access figured out!) on Monday. With so many creative and inventive labels showing, it's difficult to select a "one's to watch" list, but the Style Wylde team will definitely be on the edge of our seats waiting to see what avant garde labels, Fur Fur, and Christian Dada create, as well as slightly more mainstream designers Whiz Limited, Kamishima Chinami, Somarta, Matou, Jotaro Saito, Motonari Ono, and Araisara have in store.
