British born designer Jenny Packham has made a name for herself in the formal wear arena. Season after season she has unveiled a plethora of glittering gowns that sparkle in an explosion of sequins and beads. But for Fall 2012, Packham proved that she is much more than just a glitter-girl with collection of retro inspired cocktail dresses and gowns that were nothing short of an old-school Hollywood dream come to life on the runway.

With looks that reminded of all the great golden-era moments of Hollywood fashion from Lauren Bacall in The Maltese Falcon, to Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina the collection was one beautiful homage to vintage style.

In addition to refocusing her design eye on retro-inspired looks, Packham also showed a wider  diversity in looks this time around, with several less formal pieces that could be styled up or down, and could easily transition from day to cocktail.

Of course Packham's trademark gowns were also well represented in the collection. Delicate beading, graceful draping, and an array of colors ranging from a pale, almost sepia-tone infused blue, to bright red gave Packham's red carpet customer base plenty to chose from.
