Plaids, mismatched prints, gauzy layers, dark florals and long vintage inspired skirts; all the recognizable aspects of a 90's era grunge theme were present on the Timo Weiland Fall 2012 runway. But for this collection the looks had a serious glam upgrade via impeccable tailoring, fur trims, and lots of luxe fabrics.

image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeNo strangers to editorial praise, designers Alan Eckstein and Timo (the designers behind the label) have made a name for themselves as the darlings of the young, Brooklyn-based hipster fashion crowd. However, with this collection, where we saw a sharp eye for editing, a more developed point of view, and a more sophisticated execution than ever before, it was clear that the pair is moving beyond that "for hipsters" classification, and becoming a full-fledged force in high-end international fashion.

But we do expect to see these styles cropping up again and again in the major, more couture-focused, glossies in the months to come. And that will be a major change for the label.
