It's on: gown watch 2013
Reem Acra Spring 2013/Image: C.Hope for Style WYldeBack in 2008 First Lady Michelle Obama made major fashion waves with her drop-dead gorgeous Jason Wu inaugural gown which now hangs in the Smithsonian Museum. And since then our First Lady has become a true fashion icon, showing off her personal style in everything from Prabal Gurung to JCrew.
So, for the January 2013 Inaugural Ball the question on nearly every fashion bloggers lips is, Who will FLOTUS wear?
Now, Here are Style Wylde, we aren't silly enough to think our suggestions will have an actual impact on the Dress Decision 2013, but if they did here's where we'd recommend the first stylists (FSOTUS?) start looking!

1. Reem Acra Spring 2013
Packed to the gills with gorgeous gowns, Reem Acra's Spring 2013 collection featured one showstopper after another, many of which were Mrs. Obama-worthy. Such a dazzling collection makes it hard to choose favorites, but if forced we'd love to see the first lady consider the Ombre'd gold and pink three quarter sleeved gown (pictured left), the Blood red sleeveless gown with lace inserts (pictured right) or the glittering beaded gown that dazzled us at Lincoln Center, and stuck in our minds ever since ( pictured below).

2. Bibhu Mohapatra Fall 2012
Every season designer Bibhu Mohapatra creates beautiful gowns for his collection, but Fall 2012 left a lasting mark on our hearts with its many exquisitely detailed opera-inspired pieces. Our favorite inauguration-ready gowns from the collection include the dramatic black and green gown (pictured below right) and the delicate black gown with ivory appliques ( pictured below left).

3. Jenny Packham Fall 2012
Gloriously retro with a modern twist, the Jenny Packham Fall 2012 collection was one of our favorite formal wear shows in recent years. 1940's styles mixed with big prints, and plenty of off the shoulder (and awesome arm-flaunting) silhouettes made it a collection to remember, and one that we think would look fantastic on the First Lady!
