CONFIRMED: SJP for Halston

This just in: WWD has confirmed that the Sex and the City star and style icon in her own right, Sarah Jessica Parker will be joining the team at Halston as a designer for Halston Heritage, the affordably priced line which revamps classic Halston designs with modern touches.

Parker, who launched her own line Bitten at retailer Steve and Barry's only to see it liquidated a year later, is re-entering the business at a seemingly strange time when many celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Lauren Conrad and Eve are making hasty exits after disappointing sales. However, many industry analysts feel the May 2010 release of Sex and the City 2, in which Parker's Carrie Bradshaw sports many pieces from the Halston Heritage line will most definitely give the label a much needed sales boost.
