Trend watch: all that slithers

Yesterday's announcement that everyone's favorite Hollywood couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, are getting into the luxury jewelry market with a line of serpent theme pieces for Asprey titled "The Protector", may seem like just another quirky business decision for the adoption-happy globe trotters, but fashion followers know the snake has been sliding on to fingers, wrists and upper arms more and more over the past few months and is poised to become a full fledged trend  this season.

And while "Brandjelina" fans may have to wait a few months to pick up The Protector pieces, proceeds of which will go to Jolie's charity Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, there are already a plethora of reptilian reminiscent baubles on the market  including:

J Dauphin bangle $545 at La Garccone.com. Oxidized silver adds and antique appeal, and tough girl vibe to  this finely detailed bracelet, which may not be for the faint of heart, but is sure to turn heads.

Guess?  Snake Bangle, $40 at Guess.com.  Whimsy with a touch of bad girl, this sparkly bangle is super affordable, and gives just a hint of mystery to any outfit.

Robert Lee for Elizabeth and James cuff $495 at Bloomingdales.com. A cuff fit for Cleopatra this dramatic yet delicate piece will prove its worth with years of wearability.
