Iconic beauty brand Shiseido sent its elite Japan based team to New York for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2013 to cover and exclusive line-up of collections. Among these collections for which the 'big guns' came out was A Détacher Spring 2013, where Style Wylde caught up with the team to get an inside look at the hair and beauty these industry influencers were creating.

First up the hair: The first step in creating the extremely otherworldly hair required for the collection was to smooth model's hair out with a hot dryer and a healthy dollop of Shiseido Stage Works* Smoothing Primer. Next hair was separated into sections front and back, with the front pieces further divided and secured with styling clamps and a small amount of Shiseido Damp Jelly. With the front pieces secured, stylist combed the back into smooth pony-tails and began texturing hair with a hot crimping iron. From there, the now 100% crimped ponys were again divided into sections and extremely carefully back-combed to create a voluminous almost sculptural shape. Periodically throughout the lengthy back-combing process, stylists spritzed Shiseido Stage Works Motion Spray for added structural support.
Once the entire ponytail had been crimped and back-combed, Stylist finished with a generous coat of Shiseido Stage Works Hard Spray, and refocused their attention on the front pieces.

At this point, the previously separate front pieces were un-pinned and slicked under the model's chin to create a bonnet band effect that almost appeared to be securing the style to the model's heads.
While this was underway, on the other side of the room and entirely different Shiseido Japan team was creating a clean and bright make-up look to compliment the clothes.
Present, but understated, the make-up look highlighted and brightened the model's faces without looking heavy or overly made-up.

Shiseido makeup artists began with a light application of Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation to smooth and hydrate skin. (Something Everybody needs during fashion week!) Once the foundation was set, eyebrows were set with Shisiedo Natural Eyebrow Pencil. From there eyes were given an even bigger pop with a bold line of bright white Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color WT907. In order to keep the look soft, mascara was skipped and lips were given just a soft hint of color with Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipstick in the not-yet-on-the-market (or even named) shade BE740.
