On our radar: Harajuku Fashion coming to New People
Later this month, San Francisco's epic street fair The J-POP Summit Festival will kick off in the city's Japan Town neighborhood. Now in its fourth year the festival has become an internationally renown event that attracts fans of Japanese Fashion, Music, and Pop Culture from all over the world to San Francisco for the 2-day street event. Each year festival organizers at New People unveil a one-of-a-kind shopping event, which in the past has included specialty pop-up shops, fashion shows and even Designer meet-n-greets.
So what's on the shopping agenda for the 2013 J-POP Summit Festival?
Glad you asked! This year's J-POP Summit Festival is all about the "cute" fashion of Tokyo's Harajuku neighborhood. "Making Kawaii (Japanese word for cute) Universal" is the official theme of the festival, and the New People shopping events will be the center of all that is KAWAII at J-POP. Instead of just one small pop-up shop for a single brand, this year New People will feature a full-floor pop up shop that will feature some of the biggest brands in Harajuku including: 6% DOKI DOKI, MILK, MILK BOY, SPINS, INNOCENT WORLD, GLAD NEWS, ON THE COUCH, Candies, Hell Cat Punks, Omocha-Party, and NADIA.
Also on hand for the events will be designer Sebastian Masuda, founder of 6% Doki Doki, Model and recording artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and famed "human beat box" performer Daichi.
The first 5 customers that purchase over $200.00 in Harajuku Kawaii products between 12pm until 1:30pm on Saturday July 27th will be invited to a private photograph session with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu!! The first 100 customers to purchase over $100 will receive a premiere poster pre-autographed by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at ASOBISYSTEM’s booth, to be located on Post St. close to NEW PEOPLE.
