Get ready to shop: FNO in NYC, Chicago, LA and  SF

Now in its fourth year, FNO (Fashion's Night Out) has expanded to nearly every major US city. Originally conceived as an incentive to get Americans out supporting the industry and economic growth, it has really become a global party focused not only on commerce, but on the art and artistry of the industry nationwide.

While the biggest party of all is still in New York, other areas like Los Angeles, Chicago, and yes even our own hometown of San Francisco, have a vast array of in-store parties and celebrity appearances. Here are just a few of the highlights from around the country

Los Angeles: The Beverly Center is the place to be for a full night of events under one roof. Schedule includes appearances by Vogue West Coast Editor Lisa Love, Lucy Hale, Kendall Jenner and of course Mayor Villarigosa. After the red carpet the fashion party continues with runway shows from some of the center's best brands, mini- make-overs from Maybelline New York and tons of freebies all night long.

Chicago: Head to the Mag Mile, where everyone from big department stores to the tiniest boutiques will be partying until the wee hours with Djs, drinks, and bites from some of Chicago's best restaurants at every stop. If we were in the area, we'd be sure to stop into ZARA, where rumor has the party will be a full Spanish affair complete with tapas, and sparkling Spanish Cava on hand.

San Francisco: With Bloomingdales, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave, and even the Westfield Center Mall all throwing big events featuring giveaways, make-overs and loads of complimentary cocktails Union Square is the logical local place to start your FNO festivities in San Francisco. But if you are going to stay in the downtown area don't forget to stop in on the smaller boutiques that dot the streets from Market to Sutter and Montgomery to Mason; many of which have gift with purchase offers and in-house parties going on. On our radar: the newly opened Kurt Geiger flagship at 250 Stockton which has a major party planned featuring Live 105's Aaron Axelson, Cocktails from Distillery No.209, and the debut of the Fall 2012 line "Pretty vs.Punk." Follow the Kurt Geiger Flagship on twitter for more details.

Manhattan: The birth place of Fashion's Night Out, and by far the city with the most elaborate celebrations, Manhattan is pulling out all the stops this year with a mind boggling 822 'official' events, and many off the grid additional parties. On our radar:

Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel : Beginning at 6PM landmark boutique Opening Ceremony takes over the Ace with a special night of celebrations centered around Korea. Karaoke, a book signing with fashion innovators and Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, will all be on the schedule before the night comes to a crescendo with several designers and friends of Opening Ceremony, including Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Band of Outsiders, Stevie J and Yoni P, and Tara Subkoff from Imitation of Christ, participating in the “Closet2Closet” initiative, offering fun and one-of-a- kind items from their closets to be sold at FNO. Proceeds from this special sale will be donated to Broome Street Academy

What Goes Around Comes Around: The original purveyors of vintage/modern chic What Goes Around Comes Around will be hosting a special in-store fashion event featuring vintage collaborative collections with Whitney Port, Anna Sheffield, and Jace Lipstein.

Bergdorf Goodman: Iconic luxury boutique department store Bergdorf Goodman celebrates their 111th birthday with a Fashion's Night Out event like no other. Beginning early in the day, (3PM) with a "Get ready for FNO beauty event" the retailer takes its shoppers from prep to party with 6 hours of in-store appearances, celebrity book signings, entertainment, and of course the ultimate in shopping. As the party winds down on the women's side, head over to the Men's store for a performance from Brooklyn's The Blue Vipers, and the much anticipated unveiling of the shoe library.
