The word is out, everyone's favorite members only designer web-let, Gilt Groupe will host a warehouse sale this Saturday at Fort Mason.

The hype over the event is already running at an all time high, which the official website bragging "For one day only, the iconic studio space will be filled with timeless pieces from the women’s, men’s, and children’s collection.  In addition, you’ll have a crack at the most rarified in home design for your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom from Gilt Home. And while we can’t tell you exactly which designers you’ll encounter, you can expect the best of the best. After all, this is the company that got its start selling Zac Posen in 2007—and on any given day, you might find duds from such celebrated lines as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Kelly Wearstler, John Varvatos, Hugo Boss, Hickey Freeman and more."

While Gilt sales over the past year have featured major-name, hard-to-find designers such as Rick Owens, Missoni, Derek Lam, 3.1 Phillip Lam and many others, insiders at the Los Angeles Gilt Group sale which took place over the weekend of November 12th told SW exclusively "I'd call the sale  good, not great. Lots of Alice and Olivia, Vera Wang and Marc by Marc Jacobs but nothing mind-blowing and no bags at all, at least that I saw.  But the crowd was huge, and  I didn't go in a few hours after it had started, so maybe I missed all the best merch."

Will the Gilt sale in SF live up to the hype? Find out for yourself Saturday. Tickets for the event's 4PM entrance time slot can be purchased for $5 ( admits 2 people to the sale) . All earlier time slots for entry have sold out. For more information visit Gilt City.
