Big night out: multiple events line up for Thursday

This week we see the trunk show and pre-holiday sale schedules kick in to over drive as boutiques and designers all over the bay start making a bid to lure shoppers into the stores.

Oddly, in what can't be more than a mere fashion coincidence, many of the boutiques in the area have planned events for the same evening, making this Thursday the night to stay out late and shop local.

In Union Square:

Celebrity stylist, and let's face it savior to women all over the world whom want a little smoothing in their silhouette without the pinching of typical shaping underpinnings, Heather Thomson will be at Nordstrom in Westfield Center to meet her fans and show off the newest pieces from her Yummie Tummie collection.  12-2pm on the lingerie floor.

In Hayes Valley:

If the Girls Rock Out event at Berkeley's Convert on October 21st whet your appetite for modern, minimal pieces from The Furies, get ready to gorge! The LA Based label is bringing their edgy pieces back to the Bay Area for a trunk show at Azalea Boutique . Furies designer Rikke Korff will be on hand to help with styling; complimentary wines and an in-store raffle wil be on the menu for the event.  6PM

On the North side:

Eco Citizen hosts a Kris Nations jewel trunk show and benefit for Global Green. Shop the new collection from  San Francisco's own Kris Nations, meet the designers, enjoy organic hors d'oeuvres, and feel good about your shopping as 10% of all sales go to Global green USA.  5-9PM

In the Mission:

Relatively new to the retail scene, but getting lots of love from local bloggers, The Common is partnering with internet fashion exhibitionist sensation LOOKBOOK.NU and Designers+ Artists to host STOREFRONT.  Part trunk show featuring up to 65% of vintage and new clothing and accessories, and part party with the $20 admission giving attendees over the age of 21 an open bar is sure to be a scene.  6:30-10PM cash and credit cards only.
