Weekend round-up: It's oh so quiet, or is it?
It may seem like everyone in town is either recovering from Outside Lands, or busy prepping for the playa, but in fact there is a whole lot of skanking, moshing, and general rocking out going on around the bay including:
Tonight: In SF, Total Trash-Fest is underway at Thee Parkside. Tonight's Line-up includes Hunx and his Punx plus Shannon and the Clams. Tickets $10. Full show line-up and additional can be found on the event's Facebook page listed above.
Friday: In Oakland, Black Metal rockers Jucifer take the stage with Tornado Rider at The Uptown. Doors at 9PM; $10 tickets are available here. While over at the Stork Club, Death Rock Dive Bar gets underway goth/industrialists Crimson Ivy, Neu Era, and DJ DeathBoy. Doors at 9PM, $5
Saturday: IN SF, Slims gets grooving with jazz/ska hybrid Hepcat, supported by The InCiters.Doors at 8PM, tickets are $22 and available online here. While over at the Hemlock tavern it's a Punk-meets-Country-meets-Indie party with Slang Chickens, Man Miracle, and The Yellow Dress. Doors at 9:30, $7.
Looking ahead to next Wednesday: Shutter, one of the few remaining goth clubs left in the Bay Area (do you remember Camera Obscura and Roderick's Chamber, or even better House of Usher?) makes its monthly appearance at the Elbo Room.
