Weekend Live Music Round-up

Image courtesy of Metropolis RecordsWelcome back burners, now that you’ve had a few days to re-assimilate to society, and take a much needed shower, it’s time to get back out there and check the local music scene around the bay this weekend including:

Tonight: Starting in SF, Vivian Girls, are playing a recession-busting FREE ALL AGES SHOWS, tonight (6PM) at Amoeba Records on the Haight.  Perpetual Groove takes the stage at The Independent, and  War Tapes take the stage at Popscene.  Over in the East Bay, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs bring their Siouxsie-influenced sound to Oakland's Fox Theater (tix still available online at Another Planet).

Friday: In SF, local punks the Bare Wires are bringing their own brand of mayhem to The Hemlock Tavern with Blood Drained Cows and Vows, and Neverland ( a 15-piece MJ tribute band) moonwalks the stage at Slims. While over in the East Bay iconic Irish punk/ska/folksters Flogging Molly rock the roof off with Hep Cat and Fitz and the Tantrums at the Fox.

Saturday: in SF Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park is rocking again with the Power to the Peaceful Festival, and Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers come back to where it all began, Cafe Du Nord (9PM). Over in the East Bay Eletro-junk-punk pioneers Babyland takes the stage with and Caustic in support of their 6th full-length studio release, Cavecraft at 924 Gilman in Berkeley (7:30PM), and The Revtones rock The Uptown (9PM).

SUNDAY: in SF  wind the weekend up with  Master Volume Unit Breed and Street Eaters at The Hemlock (9PM).
