Weekend round-up

It's a long weekend of independence celebration, so between the warm weather, BBQ, and hot dogs get out and enjoy some of the live music that the Bay Area has to offer this weekend.

Friday:

SF: We kick off Rickshaw Stop with some liquid funk drum n bass featuring sets by Calibre, Marcus Intalex, and Beatropolis. Swing Goth returns to the DNA Lounge for the Bela Lugosi True Blood Ball with David J with Jill Tracy, Three Bad Jacks, and BloodWIRE plus DJs. At 222 Hyde is We & The Music with DJ's Said, Le Charm, and special guest Stephen Rigmaiden. The RockIt Room is featuring Slop Opera alongside Otayo Dubb, Gas Mask Colony, Outwitz, D. Labrie, and L&A Music. Down at Cafe Du Nord are Hot Lunch, Glitter Wizard, and Only Sons. At Mezzanine are DJ's Mehdi and Riton of Carte Blanche plus White Girl Lust, Alona, and Shane King.

East Bay: Starting in Oakland at The Uptown it's an early doors/no cover evening with Judgement Day, The Ferocious Few, Distance From Shelter, and Weston Elementary - doors are at 6 and show starts at 9. At The New Parish are California Honeydrops and Tri-Tip trio. At Shattuck Down Low in Berkeley are Mystic Roots Band with Hypnotic Vibrations. Also in Berkeley at The Starry Plough are Riot Professor, Rattlesnakes, and Caldecott

Saturday:

SF: We start at Bottom of The Hill with Oakland punk/soul favorites Damon & The Heathens, Westwood & Willow, DownDownDown, and Finish Ticket. At Hemlock Tavern it's a double header with a $5/5pm show featuring Minibosses and Roar and their 9.30 show featuring Midnight Strangers, Apopka Darkroom, Dylan Haight. Down at The Independent is Pinback Presents The Rob & Zach Show who'll be supported by Little White Teeth. Infiniti @ 1015 and JOOF Editions presents John '00' Fleming and local producer The Digital Blonde. At the Red Devil Lounge is a cd release party for Acacia Collective plus Midnight Sun and John Lefler (of Dashboard Confessional).

East Bay: 924 Gilman has a benefit for EDNF featuring Lose None, Skin Like Iron, Crucified, Plead The Fifth, Mind Trap, and Boundaries. In Berkeley at Ashkenaz there's reggae from the Virgin Islands with Inner Visions and Comanche High Power. At The Starry Plough are The Melatones, Spidermeow, and Constant Tourists.

South Bay: In San Jose at The Blank Club are Wallpaper, Butterfly Bones, and OONA

Sunday:

SF: Blasthaus return to Mighty with a DJ set from Bonobo as well as free BBQ food, an outdoor lounge and DJ's Centipede, Tom Thump, and Tal M Klein. Thee Parkside has a free twang Sunday jamboree starting at 3pm with The Eldorados, The Poontones, Grooming The Crow, and The Everlovin'. Club kids can get down to Markus Schulz at Ruby Skye who'll be supported by fellow DJ's Blake Jarrell, Dyloot, and John Beaver.
