Weekend live music round-up
San Francisco this weekend sees the annual Love Parade now retitled LovEvolution 2009. The main event happens on Saturday with a parade down Market Street that ends at the festival site at Civic Center. The official after party kicks off at Bill Graham Auditorium with a line up including Deadmau5, Groove Armada, Fischerspooner, and more. There are plenty more LovEvolution related events happening around the City that kick off tonight. All the events, venues, line-ups and more can be found here. For those not into all that LovEvolution has to offer here's a round-up of what else is going on.
Friday: Starting in SF at The Independent you'll find local favorites Crown City Rockers for an album release party in support of their new album The Day After Forever. Bottom of the Hill has the 7th Annual Joe Strummer Tribute featuring Eric McFadden, The Hooks, and The Armagideons amongst others. Over in Oakland you'll find K-Flay, Rondo Brothers, and Little Red Radio at the Uptown. At the Stork Club you'll find Pirate Radio, We Should Be Dead, and Cola Wars.
Saturday: During the daytime you can check out the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 9 Festival in Golden Gate Park. Full event lineup is here but entry is free and the show kicks off at 11am. For Saturday night we start at 1015 Folsom where you'll find one half of Deep Dish, Sharam, in support of his debut album. At the Rickshaw Stop you'll find the Rebel Girls throwing down from 10pm. At The Independent you can British sensations The Horrors who'll be ably supported by Japanese Motors and Rocket. At the Paradise Lounge you'll find Aaron and Omar with their monthly Popscene event Leisure.
