Local designer showcases and events kick off the Spring season

 

Over the holidays the local events were few and far between, but starting in February the local designers are hitting the catwalks running with a series of events kicking off around San Francisco starting with:

 

 

Tuesday, February 8th

Fashion Feud Round 2 at Rickshaw Stop

Even if you didn't make it to Round 1, where designers  Crystal Hermann and Mary M.Yanez faced off before a live audience, you can still catch up with the second round of this style series at Rickshaw Stop in Hayes Valley. Up this time Krisztina Lazar and Chrystine Druge. Doors open at 7PM, no cover.  Fashion Feud Live for more details.

 


Friday, February 11th

Archetype Runway and Trunk show

Sex + Design in partnership with Archetype Boutique host a bevy of  San Francisco and Los Angeles based designers for a runway and trunk event at Public Works. Collections to be shown include pieces from Chemline, Danielle Pettee, Jasmine Zorlu, Kittenhawk, Kucoon, and  Ric Rac.

 

Monday, February 14th

LOVESICK 4

Local designer Alexandria von Bromssen is at it again with the 4th annual Valentine's Day runway and trunk event which promises to help attendees "Wash away the taste of regret with booze from the cash bar, drown out the sound of your self-pity with music from DJ Martin Collins and a live set from the Goldenhearts."  Runway and trunk show will feature pieces from Alexandria von Bromssen, Tamo Designs, Silver Lucy, My Dirty Dishes, Miss Velvet Cream,  RAG-DOLL Designs by Larissa Verdussen, Ms G Designs, Fluidance , Pace Clothing & Jasmin Zorlu Millinery.  Doors at 7pm, runway at 9:15 tickets are $15 in advance via Brown Paper Tickets, $20 at the door at 111 Mina. 

 

 

Thursday, February 17th

Project San Francisco

San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance throws their second event for the month with Project San Francisco at the Summit on Valencia St.   An annual event that showcases recent graduates from local fashion institutes and universities, Project will also serve as a benefit for the local chapter of Dress for Success.  Doors at 6PM, tickets are $10 via eventbrite.

 

Looking forward to next month: 

March 12th master milliner Deanna Gibbons kicks off the first of 6 workshops with artist Lisa Ormiston. First up you'll learn how to use gorgeous fabrics, airbrush and hot press tools to make amazing fabric flowers. Check out Deanna's Facebook Page for more details.
