OP ed: Summer in the bay, what are you up to?

Other than becoming instantly, and possibly destructively addicted to the CW's newest voyeuristic pleasure Breaking Pointe,  my summer plans are a little up in the air right now. And no, I don't mean I plan on criss-crossing the US in a misguided attempt to gain air miles a la George Clooney, I mean, I don't know what to do. You see, as a web writer/editor most of my "big plans" revolve around various Fashion Weeks.  Come September/October I will be packed full of travel, events, and exciting happenings, but June and July, well, they are a bit tame to say the least.

Facebook friends said I looked like a DEA agent, but really I'm geared up for Kayaking/Image: C.Hope for Style Wylde

In summers past, I have filled my weekends with mostly outdoor activities. I have taken kayaking lessons on the bay via UC Berkeley's Cal Adventures program, (which is super fun and affordable and highly recommended if you have ever wanted to learn to sea kayak, windsurf or sail) hiked at Point Reyes, and taken day trips to Monterrey.  All of these activities were great, and I will do all of them again this Summer (especially the kayaking)  But I want to do something new this year too, any suggestions?

Know of a Bay Area activity we need to check out? Let us know in the comments or email  stufftodothissummer@stylewylde.com, and your suggestion may be featured in a lifestyle post.

Sky diving? Horseback writing? Get your motorcycle license and go on a cross state tour? What are the parmeters to the suggestions?

Skydiving is probably not gonna happen, motorcycling probably shouldn't! Keep the suggestions coming!

What about those fake sky-diving things with the giant fan? A friend of mine did that somewhere locally. If you're into the outdoors there's plenty of mountain biking trails too.

What is a fake sky-diving thing with a giant fan? Will I get sucked into said-fan and have all my limbs lopped off? Tell me MORE

If you like water sports, how about paddle boarding or surfing? And see the sights on the North Coast, too . . .

You know what they say about summer in San Francisco. How about a cooking demo, art class, or hot yoga?
