Friday night the historic Orpheum Theater in San Francisco was the epicenter of fashion, music and charitable causes as Macy's launched its newly revamped Glamorama Artrageous gala. The event was a multi-media extravaganza that incorporated a fall-preview runway show featuring Rachel Roy, Tommy Hilfiger, Tracy Reese (whom appeared on stage), Calvin Klein and many others, plus live performances from mega-star musician Bruno Mars and electro-pop sensation Far East Movement.

MC for the evening was Super model turned mogul and humanitarian Kathy Ireland who gave a heartfelt and touching speech honoring the event's original founder actress and legendary AIDS activist Dame Elizabeth Taylor. During this speech Ireland introduced Tarquin and Naomi Wilding, grandchildren of the late Elizabeth Taylor to the audience whom responded with thunderous applause acknowledging the tremendous impact Taylor had on AIDS related charities in San Francisco and across the world.

Far East Movement /Image:S.Whittle of Style WyldeDespite this somewhat somber moment when the passing of Taylor, and the work that still lies ahead in the fight against AIDS was noted, the overall spirit of the evening was one of great celebration. This was obvious as the audience, both the young crowd in the balcony and the older crowd in the orchestra seats, leapt to their feet to sing and dance along with the musical performances from both the electro-pop up and comers Far East Movement, and the seven-time Grammy Award Winner Bruno Mars, the latter of which brought the house down with an extended, exuberant performance of his smash hit Just the Way You Are.
