New People hosts events during The Cherry Blossom Festival

San Francisco's historic Japan Town, hosts the 43rd Annual Northern California Cherry Blossom festival this weekend and next.  In addition to the traditional activities such as the Cherry Blossom Queen Pageant, dance performances and food pavilions, this year's festival will see the unveiling of several brand new events at the pop cultural center known as NEW PEOPLE including:

KAPOW! BANG! As previously mentioned VIZ Cinema is home to Four Decades of SLAM BAM SCI-FI Robot Anime, this Friday night, as a Mecha Mania hosted by Patrick Mocias of Otaku Usa Magazine's lecture and Raffle kicks off the pre-festival party. 7-9:00PM $8 at the door.

Gothic Lolita Fashion Contest at  New People, Sunday April 11th-

New People, the one of a kind Japanese Pop Culture addition to Japan Town is hosting a Gothic Lolita Fashion Contest on  Sunday April 11th. As we understand it, ten contestants have already been chosen to compete onstage in front of judges from Baby the Stars Shine Bright, and Black Peace Now. Competition starts at 1:30, @the Buchanan Street Stage.
