Winter Olympics wylde

What is it about the Winter Olympics that captures our attention so much more than their sister Summer Games? Is it the sheer thrill of watching extreme snow sports like the ski jump, and snow boarding? Is it the breath taking beauty of figure skating, or the heart throbbing handsomeness of Apolo Ohno?

Sure we remember bits and pieces of Beijing, such as the lip-synching scandal during the opening ceremonies, and the international concern over the pollution? But when has an event at the  Summer Games come close to capturing the world's focus in a way similar to Nancy Kerrigangate, The Jamacian Bobsleders, Shaun White's debut,  or anything involving Ohno?

Never.

Athletes of the Summer Games, forgive us. We respect your talent and strength, and we wish you many happy returns, but no matter what the source, it's the Winter Games we love to watch, and so like millions of fans throughout the world, starting February 12th, we will be glued to our TVS watching the thrills, chills and unavoidable spills that make the Olympics worth watching.

A complete schedule for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic games can be found here.
