Into the unknown haiku

istock photo

Dear Haikusue:

I have been working in my job (advertising sales) since right after college. Although the job is extremely stressful, and requires lots of overtime I don't "hate it" but I don't really love it either. It's just a job, that pays my rent and isn't too awful. This was fine for awhile, but as I am turning 30 soon I feel like I need to figure out what I really want to do with my life.  I love travel, and I have always wanted to live overseas, and recently I discovered a very reputable program that trains applicants to teach English in Japan.  The more I investigate this opportunity, the more I want to do it, but my friends and family all feel I am "too old" and need to "stay in my stable job." The idea of passing on this opportunity  is  heartbreaking but at the same time I am terrified of giving up all my security and moving to a foreign country completely by myself where I may fail miserably.   Please help me decide what I should do, and then please help me find the courage to go for it!

Signed,

Scared sh*tless in the Sunset

Dear Scared:

You don't need my help

Your heart decided, LISTEN
