

Fashion feature: A Détacher Fall 2014
image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeIn what has to be the most unusual inspiration for a collection (at least among American designers) Mona Kowalska of A Détacher, drew on sports injury as a starting point for her Fall 2014 collection.
Yes, sports injury, you read that correctly. And while admittedly to some, it may seem pretty odd, and maybe even a little too high-concept in the abstract; in practice it was absolutely beautiful.

And why wouldn't it be? As one of the designer's numerous and hyper-devoted fans said to me before a show many seasons ago, "Mona always knows what she's doing."
