Fashion feature: Francis Montesinos Fall 2013

"Whoa, what is that?" -- that was my reaction when I first saw photos from the  Francis Montesinos' Fall 2013 collection, which showed at the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. 

Admittedly, I was not terribly familiar with the designer before seeing the photos.  But I now know Montesinos is a major force in Spanish style with collaborations in a variety of fields such as theater, ballet, and industrial design. But even without that knowledge, the wildly colorful and edgy pieces hit me hard in my (sometimes jaded) fashion heart.

Multi-prints and fluid silhouettes mixing it up with sexy, almost bondage inspired leathers (for boys, and girls!) felt like a  personal fashion fantasy, where budget is endless and everyone wears exactly what they want, trends and rules be damned.
