Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo AW 2013, Day 1
A duo of international collections kicked off the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo Fall/Winter 2013. Coming from as far-flung locals as Holland and Mongolia the designers really demonstrated the rising appeal of showing in Tokyo in the global industry.
First up, Dutch designer, Conny Groenewegen.
Overflowing with creativity, and unique applications of familiar materials, the Conny Groenewegen Fall 2013 collection had a fantastic balance of wearable daywear and avant-garde night-friendly pieces. From the brilliant crimson coat to the super-sexy knitted jumpsuits there was plenty to love from this emerging designer.
Next up, Monglian born designer, Ariunaa Suri.
A master at edgy, urban streetwear looks, Suri showed off her skills at draping with leathers, jerseys and knits in a palette of soft greys and taupes accented by pops of brilliant primary hues. Easy, wearable, for a variety of women, but still inherently young and cool, the pieces could easily be pictured on the backs of trendsetters from Tokyo, to Moscow, to New York and beyond.
