Fashion feature: Nozomi Ishiguro Spring 2014

the first look set the atmosphere/Image: C.Hope for Style WyldeTwinkle lights and a raised wooden stage set the scene for the dazzling Nozomi Ishiguro Spring 2014 collection that was equal parts nostalgic and otherworldly.

During the show models walked in a dizzying formation that seemed to be originating in every angle of the room. They circled around the audience, and occasionally (but not always) continued up on to the wooden platform stage. All the while Beatles/John Lennon  favorites ( slowed down and done in pure instrumental versions) drifted out over the audience for dreamy effect.

And the actual looks?  In truth, the majority occupied the 'wear-able-art' area of fashion, and will undoubtedly be embraced mostly  by Art gallery scenesters around the globe. But there were a few more marketable street style pieces, such as paint splashed hoodies and laser cut jackets dotted through the collection that gave it balance and kept it from spinning too far off on an avant-garde tangent.
