Fashion feature: Mara Hoffman Swim 2013
image:Courtesy of Mara HoffmanWhen it comes to fashion the phrases "global nomad" and "neo-bohemian" have become synonymous with designer Mara Hoffman, who's signature pieces can be almost singularly credited with the rebirth of the boho-chic trend. Always rich in color and texture, and always easy and wearable, the designer's full season collections have garnered her a rabid following with both fashion fiends and the editorial elite.

For Swim 2013, Hoffman proved that her design point-of-view works just as well with bikinis and beach cover-ups as it does for jumpsuits and gowns.

"Desert Outlaw Gypsies" was the idea behind the collection which featured a myriad of custom designed prints including "Electric Casino (Stone or Blue), Frida (Coral or Violet), Psychic Readings (Navy or Black), Nomad & Nomad Voile, Feather (Turquoise or Pink), Pow Wow (Red or White) and a new Snake print." A wide variety of additional colors such as Sky Blue, Coral, Flame Red, Poppy, Violet, Navy, Sand, Magenta and Black added depth to the patterns giving them a prismatic feel.

Clearly not satisfied to merely play with color and pattern, Hoffman also unveiled a series of new shapes and silhouettes for suits with halters, bandeaus, and braiding all playing a major part, as well as an expanded collection of dreamy day-to- night cover-ups.
