Fashion feature: JNBY Spring 2013
So far, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo has been filled with bold colors, eye-popping prints, whimsical details and an abundance of young creative energy. But for China based designer Li Lin, founder of the brand Just Naturally Be Yourself, or JNBY as it's most commonly known, Spring 2013 was all about an entirely different approach to style.
Subdued and minimalistic with bursts of mono chromatic looks in crimson, orange, yellow, green or blue, the collection felt more like one you'd expect to see at Chelsea Piers in New York, than taking the runways in Tokyo.
This is not to say that JNBY lacked creativity, there was plenty of that on hand. But for Li, creativity is restrained and best expressed through paper thin knits, artful draping and technical fabrics used in innovative silhouettes.
