image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeIf you don't attend Fashion Week on a regular basis, it would be safe to say that other than the 'mass market' labels like Calvin Klein and BCBG , you might not have seen the work of a majority of the brands showing. But when it comes to super-glam duo David and Phillipe Blond, of The Blonds, we can almost guarantee that you've seen at least one of their looks in recent years. Not convinced? Well how about if we told you that The Blonds have created corsets and onstage costumes for nearly every major pop star on earth; Gaga, Britney, Rihanna, Christina, Fergie, they've all worn the brand. When it comes to high-octane fashion for the music and entertainment industry nobody does it better than The Blonds.

image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeFor Spring 2012, David and Phillipe did the impossible, and outdid themselves on the iconic glamour front, with a destined to be legendary collection of Playboy® Bunny inspired pieces.  And while "bunnies" may seem like an unusual choice for  high fashion The Blonds made it all make sense with an absolutely breath-taking collection that included everything from full length bejeweled gowns, to MTV-ready corsets.

Obviously not immune to the sexy, whimsical, and utterly joyful vibe of the collection the crowd (including this writer) broke into  applause at many points in the show. Often this applause was heard in response to some of the more modest pieces, such as the foxtail-inspired corset (pictured left) proving that it was truly recognition for the massive creativity, and immense craftsmanship needed to produce the pieces and not just  praise of the uber-alluring models cast in the show.

By the time the runway show was coming to an end, with a charmingly nostalgic interlude of classic bunnies escorting a platinum corset-clad Phillipe Blond onto the catwalk, one thing was clear: The Blonds Spring 2012 collection would be the festive highlight of Fashion Week.
