Fashion Feature: Norman Ambrose Spring 2012

"Sun glistening on the Mediterranean like a sea of diamonds" was the description SF Bay Area born designer Norman Ambrose gave for his Spring 2012 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.  And sparkle it did in a glittering array of golds, silvers, and coppers with punches of pink, peach and black woven through.

image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeOne of only a small handful of designers to be taught and trained in the Bay Area, and move on to the national stage in New York, Ambrose has definitely found his voice in the large arena, garnering widespread praise for his elaborate, and intrinsically glamorous work that is always high on Hollywood appeal.

Definitely not intended for the low-key girl that doesn't want to get attention, the Norman Ambrose collection included looks for a myriad of occasions.  From sleek suits that appeared almost liquid with their relaxed construction in black-gold fabric, to delicately beaded blush colored ball gowns, to a jaw dropping jeweled bodysuit in vibrant burnt orange the show was packed with stand-out-in-the-crowd pieces.
