Insectile exoskeletons and deep sea creatures are not usually the first things that come to mind when viewing images from the runways. But those were indeed the first thoughts to spring forth at first glance at the Iris van Herpen Spring 2012 collection which debuted in Berlin on Friday.
Dan and Corinna Lecca/Getty EuropeWith an obvious nod to the late master of avant-garde Alexander McQueen, van Herpen's pieces defied gravity with bone-like construction used to created winged arms and exaggerated hips.
